THE AUTISM ICEBERG
I was somewhat sad to learn that being autistic doesn't necessarily mean that you are a genius.
That's the problem with stereotypes. Whilst you may love the positive stereotypes - genius, intelligence etc. - 'society' will also make you own the negative ones.
You are not a stereotype! Don't be seduced by the praise! And don't accept the abuse.
In popular image, autistic people are maths geniuses. Let's just say I never was and never will be.
I'm not emotionless and humourless, either. And I am very far from being unintelligent. I have my own particular genius. Like everyone else.
