EXPRESS YOURSELF, SELL YOURSELF

Express yourself
Create the space
You know you can win
Don't give up the chase
Beat the man
Take him on
You never give up
It's one on one

Create the time, too.

A definition of autism that I love is 'in your own time and space.' It can be lonely, there, and creating time and space in society, where you gain recognition and material rewards, is nothing less than difficult. I'm about to launch my "Writing Voice" Books venture. I express myself and my creativity through writing. I did my City and Guilds at the St Helens Chamber some time in 2010. The very helpful and insightful lady in charge of marketing saw my work and insisted I 'monetize' immediately. She said she had seen many creative people who never earned the money their talents merited, because they cared more about the creating and not all about the money. You have to take care of business. This, as I found out at the Chamber, is not just hard work, it is boring work that takes you away from your passions. The result is that those of mediocre abilities, but whose passion is making money, make money out of their meagre content.

It helps to be insensitive, too. Emily here is quite right when she underlines that autistic people are hypersensitive to criticism and rejection, something that encourages them to keep themselves to themselves and not trouble themself with marketing.

In an ideal world, express yourself and market yourself will be married and merged, yielding handsome rewards for the super talented, highly creative autists who are out there.
