THE FLOW AS TORRENT

I posted this meme among a number of memes following discussions with my doctor which indicated the extreme likelihood of AS on my part. Which begs the question why? I now caution people to be careful when it comes to disclosure, and to avoid public statements and declarations, unless they have a deliberate campaigning intent in mind. In my experience, most people either won't read and understand or simply don't care. People tend to care only about those things - or people - of immediate or intimate concern; they don't have time and resources to spend on abstract others, which is all that autistic people they don't know are. Even sympathisers will be sympathetic only to some broad, passive message, which is itself routinely misunderstood (very many presume and reproduce the negative stereotypes of autism as an affliction). The smarter ones have told me that it is difficult to comment on autism posts because the condition is so complex - and subjective - that it is all about the specifics. This was a sage comment, underlining the impossibility of a general education. You have to get down to the specifics within practical relation, and hope that people can succeed in applying broad words to concrete particulars.

I still like this meme, though, for the reason that it explains the volcanic explosion that sends the masses of information in my head to infinity. I use it as a screening device. If people can't stand in face of a torrential flow then they will be overwhelmed in my company, and I'm done restricting and censoring myself just for the company of people who evidently aren't much interested in the gifts I have to offer in any case.
